2012 Spring / Summer Hairstyles and Hair Trends.

2012 Spring / Summer Hairstyles and Hair Trends.
As we enter the spring and summer season, lets do so with a new hairstyle. This season, the runway was overtaken with fab new trends for us to try, ones that work with many different hair textures, lengths, and ethnicities. One of the biggest trends of the spring and summer season is the look of slicked back hair. This trend really comes into play because of the masculine vibe that was seen on the runway. To pull off this trend you'll need tons of product to help keep your hair slicked back into a way that makes it appear wet for hours. Almost as if you just stepped out the shower.

The look of retro hairstyles is also making a huge return from the fall season, you can wear this trend in the form of waves, pin curls, and retro updos. Head scarfs are another big trend for the season. Many designers showed models wearing scarfs covering their heads during New York fashion week. Which is a simple look to try at home since many of us already have scarfs. Try wearing a scarf with a design for a high fashion feel. Other key trends to try this season include hair knots, bold hair color ( particular pink hues), bob haircuts, blunt bangs, messy hairstyles, off center and center parts, embellished updos, and half up half down hairstyles. Look below to see some of this seasons hottest hair trends.

March Glossybox: The Harrods Edition!

This month's Glossybox was the highly anticipated Harrods Edition, and it did not disappoint! I loved the classic white box and green ribbon, I was very careful not to ruin any of the presentation so that I could snap a picture and show you guys how pretty it all looked, ha ha ha!
With the March box, I received five items:
Fendi Fan di Fendi Eau de Toilette
Ojon Damage Reverse Instant Restorative Hair Serum
Erno Laszlo The Hollywood Collection 5 Sachets
Burberry Beauty Miniature Lip Cover in Rosewood
Clarins Extra Firming Body Cream
I was especially happy with the Ojon serum, being that my hair is very long, dry and often needs added moisture. I had also heard very good things about Ojon, though I'd never tried any of their products before.

I was also impressed with the Fan di Fendi perfume sample, as it came in an adorable little mini bottle which will look so cute on my vanity! The scent is very floral and light, exactly the kind of thing I like to wear.

Probably my least favourite was the Erno Laszlo Hollywood Collection skincare samples. You do get a lot of different products to try, but I probably would have preferred just one (bigger) sample instead of five little ones. However I'm looking forward to trying these out and am curious to see how they work for my skin!

My second favourite product was definitely the Burberry miniature lipstick -- how cute is this?! I'm not sure if this picture really shows the scale of just how tiny it is, At first I did think this shade was too dark but it is actually a very pretty brownish nude. Foundation Routine for Acne Prone Skin

It's no secret that I have acne-prone skin. I've had it since I was a teenager, which is probably when it was at its worst and now again in the past few months before my wedding. In my case, I am quite sure that the reason for my breakouts is largely to do with pre-wedding stress as nothing else had really changed. The breakouts started in July of this year and since then I've had to change both my skincare and foundation routine. Certain foundations can make acne look worse, some are too light and don't cover redness or bumps very well, others are too heavy and give a cakey appearance. I had been researching different foundations for weeks, trying to find the best possible option for my wedding day. Then, I purchased a couple of items from The Body Shop and all my prayers were answered.

The package included their full brand new Extra Virgin Minerals range which was made up of two liquid foundations (a lighter and a darker shade), a kabuki brush, foundation brush, compact foundation and powder foundation.

First tested the liquid foundation. Unfortunately both shades were a little too dark for my skin tone, as well as being too oily for my skin type. I think these would work a lot better on dry skin. Mine is oily/combination
Next I tried the Cream Compact Foundation and instantly fell in love with it. It melts into the skin so effortlessly and gives an overall flawless appearance, without looking cakey or oily in anyway.

The main thing I love about this is that it covers all redness, bumpiness and acne as if I had used the airbrush tool on my face in Photoshop, lol! I applied this to my forehead (which is my worst breakout area) in front of my mum to see her reaction and even she was amazed! The other thing that I adore about it is that it DOES NOT BUDGE all day long. I look at myself in the mirror last thing at night and my face makeup is still perfect.

Also purchased the Loose Powder Foundation and was equally impressed with the results. I apply a thin layer of this on top of the Cream Compact to counteract any oiliness or shine in my T-zone. On a regular day when I don't want to use too much makeup, I will just wear this one on its own. It covers acne wonderfully too!

The Sedona Lace Vortex foundation brush is my absolute favourite out of my whole set. It works amazingly well with the cream compact foundation. I thoroughly recommend a dense, flat top foundation brush for a completely blended and airbrushed effect!

hope some of you found this helpful! You can Purchase The Body Shop Natural Virgin mineral make up. Click here http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/make-up.aspx

Semi Permanent Lashes

Hi guys so i decides to get Semi permanent eye lashes done, which are where the place a false eye lash individually onto every eye lash. So you can imagine how long the treatment took! I would preferably say around 3-4 hours, i literally fell asleep. I was told that they were expected to last between 9-12 week which is why £65 was reasonable to spend as i wouldn't have to wear much make up and would save a lot of time in the mornings. The downfall was that gradually the eye lashes started to drop out and due to them being so long would irritate my eyes and from time to time i would find sleeping uncomfortable as subconsciously would be worried about more falling out and only lasted 5 weeks. Would i get them done again? Yes, just because they were very pretty and gave a effortless look and i find it amazing how they manage to make them look so natural.

Here are some pictures of when i first had them done x

In life we do things. Some we wish we had never done. Some we wish we could replay millions of times in our heads. But they all make us who we are, and in the wnd they shape every detail about us. if we were to reverse amy of them we wouldn't be the person we are. So just live and make wonderful memories. Never second guess who you are, and most importantly where it is you are going.

Marni at H&M

Whilst flicking through my sky channels on tv i saw the amazing new H&M advert the beautiful matte silks used and polka dot prints has a rather 60s feel/ tribal feel.

The collection is edging on the more pricey side for H&M but more affordable for Marni the idea of collaborating both brands is great and is available on March 8th at H&M. And also check out the H&M website to view the collection.
